Established in 2007, Arkas Italia is the general agent of Arkas Lines belonging Arkas Holding . Arkas holding is a family run business and it is considered as the first Turkish logistic operator and one of the leading companies in international shipping and port operations.
Between 2007 and 2010 Arkas Italia has been mainly involved in Italy/Turkey trades but the real intention of the founder, Mr Lucien Arkas, was much more ambitious. As a matter of fact, the incipit idea was to create a solid and strong organization aiming to become soon a leader for Mediterranean markets in our country as well. At beginning of 2011, Fratelli Cosulich Group became shareholder of Arkas Italia with now 50% of the company to create synergies among the two-family business groups. The aim of this partnership was to business develop ARKAS ITALIA shipping activities with a view to open new liner services from the Italian Ports calling new destinations.
Arkas Italia can count on support of 55 employees shared among its 2 offices of Genoa and Naples.
So far, the result of the collaboration has been increasingly growing. and starting a deep internal reorganization that brought the Agency from the 16.000 teus handled in 2010 to over 100.000 teus handled a few years later.
Today Arkas Italia, thanks to the long-term relationship built with our business partners, customers and employees, is for sure a strong reality and a point of reference for those who have to ship from Italy to all Mediterranean ports, USA and Red Gulf. The company can offer direct and weekly services to Greece, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Portugal as well as with trans-shipment through hub ports, services to all other Mediterranean, Black Sea, USA, Red Sea and West African countries.
