Picture 27 beams was less than the project bending moment of
the beam itself which, at the time of lifting, weighed
about 350 tons.
Due to the shape of the pile, before it was cut, it was
necessary to support it with the cranes, which
maintained, for the entire duration of the cut, a weight
close to 100% of its weight, so that the surfaces
affected by the cut were as discharged and neutral as
possible, avoiding the release of uncontrollable and
sudden forces when the cut was completed. For the
removal of the pile column, the disassembly operation
took place using Fagioli CC2800 cranes, which took
load and lowered to the ground the pile blocks
previously cut with an electric Tyrolit SK B diamond
wire, a particularly compact wire suitable for being
used on aerial platforms. The sizing of these blocks
had been specifically designed to be easily slung,
handled and processed once on the ground by means
of Fagioli SPMTs. (See picture 28)
